Reserve's crusade against the real causes of inflation will take an important step. On September 7, the update of our mobile application will be available at Google Play Store. Although the opening of new accounts will be gradual, in order to give special attention to each user and optimize the current tools by incorporating new financial and payment services, more people will have access to the protection and financial freedom of our digital dollar account. Here we explain how we’ll build a future without inflation and more details about this milestone in our project.
Economic stability is a human right and the fight against inflation is a humanitarian cause.
In prosperous societies, if you save or accumulate wealth legally, you can be pretty sure that other people or the government won't take it away from you - apart from taxes. However, when institutions are weak, property rights guarantee very little, which only creates poverty and inequality: on the one hand, there are those who have access to resources and their money is safe in places where property is respected, and, on the other hand, the vast majority is defenseless against the loss of value of their work, savings and assets.
At Reserve we believe that everyone should have free access to money of constant value and financial tools to save and grow, without discrimination based on identity card, race, sexual orientation or religion. That is why we are developing a monetary system backed by properly diversified assets, distributed throughout the world and governed by a well-designed blockchain that will evolve into a fully decentralized model. The September 7 update is an important step forward in achieving this goal.
More than Just a Dollar Account
Thanks to thousands of users in Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina, Reserve has already demonstrated how easy it is to have a digital dollar account on their cell phones for protecting the value of money and using it more freely.
During this stage, we invest and strive to learn. It has been a year of testing, listening carefully, understanding, talking, and sharing with ordinary people.
In this way, we have managed to understand how to live how’s the difficult economic reality of these countries experienced in the street-level, their relationship with unstable currencies, and, above all, how to encourage the confidence of users in markets so traumatized by devaluation and inflation, in order to incorporate them again into a global and truly free financial system.
Furthermore, we confirm, above all, that transparency, empathy, and gratitude must always be present in everything we do.
We are now entering a stage of tool optimization. The new Reserve will have an increased capacity and will improve the user experience, making it faster, more direct, and safer. One of the improvements we are looking to achieve in the short term is to allow exchange services in 2 minutes, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Additionally, the new Reserve will allow us to be more attentive to our users’ requirements, make us able to give them a service that more than just efficient will be pleasant and reliable. Also in the coming months, we will test new options and financial services that will surprise and help many more people to satisfy different financial needs in the near future.
As if that wasn't enough, from September 7th we will be in direct contact with our users through creative proposals and promotions in our social networks, a renewed help center with more and better information, live streams, support to the work of content creators, and more.
This is why we’ll have a Livestream by Instagram Live on Thursday, September 3rd, where Nevin Freeman and Hernan Rivas will answer all your questions about our platform. We will also be inviting 5 current users to join us and perform transactions over the weekend. How to Do the Update?
Reserve always puts its users first. Besides being the focus of all our efforts, we want to thank you for being with us during the initial learning stage of our project. For this reason, the deployment of the new Reserve will be carried out in stages.
From September 7th, anyone can download the update, but while our current registered users will be able to use their accounts immediately, new users will have to fill out an application within the app and register. They will be granted access gradually over the following weeks, according to their needs and use cases.
This strategy will allow us to optimize our tools and offer, from the very first day, a very special and personalized attention to each and every one of the users who join the Reserve community.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that the hours for exchange operations during this week (from August 31st to September 4th) will be the following:
- Argentina: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Colombia: 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Venezuela: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
From Monday 7th September we will return to the regular schedule. We are already working to offer you 24/7 availability of our currency exchange service very son. This, in addition, all the money sending and payment features between Reserve accounts, which will continue to work, as always, on a full-time basis.
